Help, my wife says there is a pool...

Few months after our trip to Tucson we were moving forward driving to California to enjoy our Palm Springs Marriott timeshare. Little did I know that there are not a lot of restaurants between Phoenix and Palm Springs, bring food and water. We arrived in Palm Springs and found a delightful Mexican restaurant that had delicious food and even a wonderful margarita.

On to our Marriott timeshare…an adult pool…how nice! Now this has a lift and yes, we are going to do this! First pool experience, I put the life jacket on Curly and got him in the lift chair…. now the fun begins…you cannot touch the bottom of a pool with a life jacket on. People started to gather around to help me, how nice. After a consensus we decided that the life jacket was not a good idea, but we would keep it on him which would allow him to sit safely in the pool lift to enjoy the water. Few months later, we had our pool lift put in. 360 Mobility came and concreted it in. Waited the prescribed time and all excited to try the lift. Luckily, I had a person here to help me. We get him in the lift and start lowering Curly…whoops the lift is coming out of the concrete. We were able to get Curly out safely by moving him into the water and over to the stairs. Then I went and I got the Hoyer lift and we kept getting him up one step at a time until the Hoyer would reach to pull him out.

I then preceded to call the company that installed it. Left a message and they were out within an hour to see what had happened. They did realize that this could have been tragic and came out and reinstalled the lift within that week and everything has been fine. The side of the story I have not shared is.. that was the first time I had used that caregiver…. Unfortunately, he was busy after that...
