Do you know what a TODD is?

Moving Forward with Disabilities in Retirement...

I spent this morning talking to a dear friend in Minnesota. I had mentioned that Curly and I had made an appointment in June to meet with an Eldercare Attorney, we just want to be better informed on what Arizona law requires.

My friend started telling me about her experience and that she had done a TODD that way if something happened to her, her surviving children would take the TODD document along with the death certificate and for a small fee the courthouse would transfer the home into their names.

I became interested so I started searching the internet…

Estate planning is an important and everlasting gift you can give your family. And setting up a smooth inheritance isn't as hard as you might think.

A transfer-on-death deed (TODD) allows for the transfer of title of real property to a named beneficiary at the death of the owner, or the last to die of multiple owners.

We had our original Will done many years ago in Texas. When we moved to Wisconsin we had it redone and now in Arizona we could once again pay the $1500+ to have it redone here. We decided to search the internet…Legal Zoom has everything according to your state. We sat down with the old Will and for far less amount of money we were able to walk ourselves through this.

When we started searching for TODD we also found a site that you can do this on the internet, Deed Claim. Away we went and today we will have that notarized and be all done. Before you get to the payment part check for a coupon on the internet. we saved 10% at Deed Claim by checking out for coupons online.

Both the Will with Legal Zoom and the Todd documents with Deed Claim are easy. You pick your state and go forward from there. We do need to caution you that we am not an attorney and this is our opinion.

We are by no means a legal expert, but we do want to be educated in some of this to beable to ask our eldercare attorney to verify our choice. We know that usually legal fees are billed by the hour so it may be advantageous to do your homework so you can ask the right questions.

Some may think this may sound morbid others may relate to the cartoon below; however, we want our family to remember us as Moving Forward and taking care of as much as possible so they can move forward.
